Songs of Celebration (Psalms 107-150)

Book Five of the Psalms finds the exiles back in their land and rebuilding the temple and the city of Jerusalem. These psalms express joy in God’s faithfulness as well as a desire for help from God to face the communities and nations hostile to him and his people. 

In Songs of Celebration, David Jackson and Matthew Olliffe cover in 10 studies the 44 psalms collected as Book Five (Psalms 107–150), a book where we see the psalmists praising God and expressing hope for their coming king.

This is the final volume of a five-part series on the Psalms. Unlike most other studies on the Psalms, this series reads each psalm not as an isolated unit but in the context of the whole book. As we see the full sweep of the Psalms, we will see that in all times, God’s people can entrust their future to their Messiah.

David Jackson has over 40 years of school-teaching experience, including 25 years as Head of Biblical Studies. He has also served as a pastor and church planter. David is the author of several books, journal articles and dictionary articles. He has been married to Pat for over 50 years, and together they have four children and 11 grandchildren. He is a member of Multicultural Bible Ministry in Rooty Hill, Sydney. 

Matt Olliffe studied at Moore College in Sydney, and is an Anglican minister and an Anglicare chaplain in residential aged care. He is the author of numerous studies in the Interactive Bible study series, including Introducing Jesus (John 1–4), Challenging Jesus (John 5–12), Revealing Jesus (John 13-17), Glorifying Jesus (John 18–21), and Salvation Revealed(Genesis 12–50).
