Songs of God's King (Psalms 1-41)

According to Psalm 1, blessed are those who delight in the law of the Lord, and who meditate on it day and night. Psalm 2 says, “Blessed are all who take refuge in him”—that is, the Son. These opening statements give us our bearings and ready us for exploring the book of Psalms.

In 9 studies, Songs of God’s King covers Book One of the Psalms (Psalms 1–41)—a book that reflects a time when God’s king, David, was on his throne in Israel, but that also looks forward to the promised King who would rule forever. 

This is volume 1 of a five-part series on the Psalms. Unlike most other studies on the Psalms, this series reads each psalm not as an isolated unit but in the context of the whole book. As we see the full sweep of the Psalms, we will come to delight in the law of the Lord and take refuge in his Son—Jesus, the forever king.
