Meeting The Essential Jesus

What if we combined the Gospel of Luke with the well-known and much-loved Two Ways to Live gospel outline, then added some questions and comments to help readers who are new to the Bible?

That’s what Meeting the Essential Jesus does. Most of its pages are made up of a fresh and accurate translation of Luke’s Gospel, combined with questions designed to help readers understand what they’re reading, together with some light commentary on the text (thoughtfully designed to keep the focus on Luke’s inspired account). The book also contains important background information to reading the Gospel (based on Two Ways to Live), together with numerous footnotes on terms and names that may be unfamiliar to modern readers. After Luke’s account of Jesus, a summary of the message is presented using the updated version of Two Ways to Live, but linking back to the content of Luke.

This is an ideal evangelistic resource for those who are willing to read a first-hand account of Jesus for themselves, but could use some gentle guidance along the way.

Based on the previously published The Essential Jesus, this is a self-guided study through Luke’s Gospel. It is meant to give a new Gospel-reader enough information and prompts to stop and consider what is going on in each section of Luke. There are information boxes, questions and pointers.
